Facing Life's Struggles

Each day can bring new struggles. We may wake up to a flat tire. The doctor may call with bad news. An unexpected bill may arrive in the mail. Our struggles come in many forms: physical, financial, emotional, or spiritual. What can we do to face these struggles and enjoy the abundant life that God has given us through Christ? We must first and foremost remember the promises of God. John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Our abundant life comes through our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He has given us eternal life and a hope that cannot be taken away by the cares of this world. As we face our daily struggles, we can rest in our salvation and God’s promise that He is working all things together for good. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28. God uses the struggles to bring about His purposes not only in our lives, but in the lives of others. How can we come along side those that are hurting if we do not understand their pain? How do we witness God’s faithfulness, when we cannot trust Him in the good and bad life brings our way? God has promised us abundant life and that He is working all things for good. As we face life’s struggles, we need to rest in Him and allow His joy to radiate through us no matter what we may be going through.
